Jackie Schauss passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Slinger, WI, after long standing illness. Jacquelyn (Jackie) Rae Scheel was born January 2, 1945 at Le Gault Hospital in Owen, WI. She was the daughter of Alfred and Audrey (Anderson) Scheel. Jackie was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in her hometown of Abbotsford, WI. In her teens she took organ lessons from the Presbyterian minister's wife; and thereby became the organist at The First Presbyterian Church. Jackie was also an accomplished pianist. She had taken extensive piano lessons and later taught piano. Jackie Scheel attended Dor-Abby High School and graduated in 1963. For a time she attended Tusculum Presbyterian College in East Tennessee, studying music. Sometime later she returned home to Northern Wisconsin and began attending UW Marathon County. At the UW college she met her husband to be, John (Jack) Schauss of Wausau. "Jack and Jackie" married September 8, 1967 at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford, WI. The newlyweds moved to Madison in 1968 where Jackie worked as an administrative assistant at the UW Extension. In 1972, the Schauss' moved to Milwaukee where Jackie transferred to UWM's Letters and Science Department. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Jack; her sister Mary; and her parents Alfred and Audrey Scheel. She leaves behind her daughter Tammy (Mike) Robinson; her son Eric (Kristi) Schauss and two grandchildren. Private inurnment will be held.
