Jakob Sikinger, 91, of Jackson, WI passed away on February 15, 2022 after a long battle Alzheimer's. Preceded in death by his parents, Josef and Apolonia Sikinger; sister, Mary Magdalene Sikinger, Uncle and Aunt, Stefan and Theresa Schoen.
Jakob was born on November 11, 1930 in Karawukovo Yugoslavia. Growing up, Jakob and his family faced many hardships. The family immigrated to the US in the early 1950's and settled in Milwaukee. Jakob met Mary Schmidt at the Jefferson Hall and married on December 1, 1951.
Jakob is survived by his beloved wife, Mary and daughter, Monica (Gary) Winkelmann, grandson, Eric Winkelmann and great-grandchildren, Grace and Owen Winkelmann. Also survived by brothers Joseph (Marianne), Walter (Chris), Robert and sister Leni Schleiss (Tony in spirit), nephews and nieces.
Jakob worked for the Whitefish Bay Department of Public Works for 40 years. Upon retiring, Jakob and Mary moved to Sarasota where they fulfilled their retirement dreams. Jakob was passionate about gardening, fishing, playing his harmonica, riding his bike 30 miles a day (well into his 80's), and going to the beach to watch sunrise and sunsets with Mary.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Schramka Densow Funeral Home from 10:30-11:30 AM with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to the Alzheimer's Association, 620 S. 76th St, Milwaukee, WI 53214.
