James A. Andreshak

July 30, 1940 — February 17, 2026

Menomonee Falls

James Anthony Andreshak (aka “Jim”), age 85, passed away on February 17, 2026 in his Menomonee Falls, WI home where he resided for 68 years, after a year long battle with mesothelioma.

He was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 31, 1940, to Anthony V.P. and Marian (née Gogah) Andreshak. After graduating from Rufus King High School, he completed his Associates Degree in Structural Engineering at Milwaukee Institute of Technology. He went on to enjoy a career with the WI Department of Transportation as a Project Manager, designing and overseeing road and bridge construction across the south-eastern part of the state for over 30 years. You could always count on him for an enthusiastic (and detailed!) story from his time there, and throughout his long retirement was known to say how much “I loved my work” with a proud and grateful smile.

Jim took being a devout fan of the Green Bay Packers as seriously (and perhaps more) as he took his job. As a season-ticket holder, one of his favorite things to do was invite family and friends to join him for a home game. He especially loved it when any of grandkids were a part of that group.

He considered himself incredibly blessed to have been married twice in his life to two amazing women - Nida Jean Andreshak (née Cochrane) from 1966 until she passed away in 2004, and Mary Ann Poole, from 2015 until she passed away in 2023. Jim lovingly cared for each of them through their final days.

Jim loved spending his time outdoors camping, hiking and fishing. He had a fondness for model trains, puzzles and Legos. Most of all, he loved his Catholic faith and attended Mass daily. He considered “spending time in the presence of Jesus” a profound privilege and hoped everyone he loved could share in that experience.

He is survived by his sister, Diane Worth, his daughters, Christine Andreshak and Elizabeth Disch (Douglas), his grandchildren, Connor and Kyle Disch, Shelley Herwig, Samantha Waldon (John), four great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, and his brother, Thomas Andreshak.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 9:30 - 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Parish (N74 W13604 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI). A full Catholic mass at 11:00am will be immediately followed with burial and a luncheon.

Jim was an avid supporter of many causes and charities that were important to him. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity in his name are appreciated.
