Germantown

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James J. Trinastic, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and devoted community member, who peacefully departed this life on December 20th, 2025. He was 89 years old and a long-time resident of Milwaukee and Germantown, Wisconsin. James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

James was preceded in death by his cherished wife of over 60 years, Marcelyn J. Trinastic, with whom he built a beautiful life and raised a loving family. Also, he was predeceased by his loving son Joseph G. Trinastic and son-in-law Paul Barnes. He leaves behind his devoted children: James R. Trinastic, Christine M. Barnes, John T. Trinastic, and daughter-in-law: Joseph’s wife Crystal Trinastic. He was also a much loved and admired grandfather to: Megan (Matías) Vergara Barnes, Mikayla (Nick) Tonn Barnes, and Brandon (Gloria) Trinastic, Lydia Trinastic, and Joshua Trinastic. He was a great grandfather to: Rowan, Arwen, and Jordan Trinastic.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, James honorably served his country. For over three decades, he dedicated himself to his career as a truck driver and in sales, known for his diligent work ethic and reliability. Beyond his professional life, James was renowned for his extraordinary handyman skills, capable of fixing nearly anything with ingenuity and patience. His neighbors and friends will fondly remember him as a kind, generous, and approachable man, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a friendly word.

In his well-deserved retirement, James cherished the simpler pleasures of life, shared with his beloved wife Marcelyn. Their days were filled with the peaceful enjoyment of bird watching, the warmth of home cooking, exploring the digital world on his computer, and meticulously tending to their home and yard. Above all, James found immense peace and comfort in his faith. He passed away with a heart full of love and a profound sense of serenity, knowing he was at peace with the Lord.
