Jan Matthew Wrecza
Born on May 1, 1952 and found peace on July 26, 2025. Beloved husband of 43 years to Elizabeth. Proud father to Matthew Louis (Leah). Loving Papa to grandchildren Gabriel and Elouise Wrecza and Wyatt. Beloved brother to Carol (Sidney) Sand, of Colorado. Uncle and special friend to Christian Hellmer (Maria), great-uncle to Ian and Corina Hellmer all of North Carolina. Preceded in death by parents Edward and Helen Wrecza, siblings Corinne (Carol) Hellmer and Edward Wrecza Survived by a host of beloved cousins and friends. As there are too many cousins and friends to name- you know who you are and that Jan loves you.
He shared a special bond with the men of the IUPAT glaziers local 1204. He was a 44 year union member proudly serving as Financial Secretary/Treasurer for 15 years. He worked as a glazier for Lurie Glass for 40 years.
Jan had special fishing buddies who would make trips to Lake Erie, outer banks North Carolina, and Wisconsin. He was an avid hunter and traveled to Canada and Central Wisconsin to bag many trophy deer and amazing waterfowl.
Of his many hobbies he enjoyed gardening, fishing and he cherished his time boating with his family and especially tubing with his beloved Gabriel and Elouise in the summers on Pewaukee Lake.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6
th
from 3-6 PM at Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield.
