Joan C. Mikulec
Age 90, of Mequon, WI passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Carl E. Amann and Florence White and, her beloved husband in marriage of 70 years, Frank Mikulec, who passed away on January 3, 2021.
Joan is survived by, and remains in the love of her children, Kathy Bay, Gary (Cathryn) Mikulec, Susan (Scott) Stonier, and Lee (Lora) Mikulec. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren Stephanie Bay, Jared (Bridget) Bay, Megan (Jeffrey) Frank, Jennifer (Matthew) Mayrl, Dan (Kristin) Mikulec, Lauren (Dave) Esarey, Thomas Stonier, Jason (Erin) Mikulec, Belinda (Chad) Vollstedt, Phoenix Mikulec, Aden Barrett, and Ian Mikulec. In addition, Joan is survived by her adored 17 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life of unconditional love for family, Joan was also an accomplished and witty writer. Often competing in jingles of 25 words or less, she regularly won prizes and awards for her work. For 8 years, Joan volunteered her time and skills as a Girl Scout leader and camp counselor. She later found her passion in quilting and sewing, excelling at both. Her love of nature and the outdoors led her to volunteer for nearly 20 years at the Schlitz Audubon Society in Bayside where she provided tours to many school children while befriending deer and other wildlife along the way.
Joan lived her compassion for nature and wildlife by feeding her deer, squirrels, fox, and other visitors to her Mequon patio feed station through every season of every year.
Her love, kisses, hugs, and smiles will remain with family and friends forever, a timeless gift.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the lives of Joan C. and Frank S. Mikulec will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Road, Mequon, WI. Visitation will be held at Lumen Christi at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.
