John Gorczany passed away peacefully on May 4,2024, two weeks shy of his 87th birthday at Lawlis Hospice in Mequon. He was born on May 18, 1937 to John and Katherine (Winiarski) Gorczany in Milwaukee on his father's birthday. He attended elementary school at St. Mary's Czestochowa and graduated from Riverside HS. He proudly served in the US Army.
John spent the majority of his life living in Milwaukee, moving to Mequon in 2020. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars and spending time with family and friends fishing, hunting, camping, trapshooting, bowling, cards and grilling out. In his later years he enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife in the yard, attending ethnic festivals, cheering on the local sports teams, watching game shows (especially Jeopardy), going to the casino and his favorite thing was listening to his grandson play violin.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Barbara (Bartz), son Michael (Sue), daughter Susan (Todd) Fudurich, his favorite grandson Alexander Fudurich and his furry friends Cutie Kitty and Pretty.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine, sisters and brothers-in-law Frances (Edward) Pytlik, Joanne (Harold) Dickman and Alice (Bill) Mailer, brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph (Mildred), Stanley (Eleanor), Casimir, and Edward (Carol).
The family would like to thank the wonderful care teams at Columbia St. Mary's and Lawlis Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
