John J. Heck was born to Life March 16, 1943 and born to Eternal Life September 3, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen, son William, grandchildren Christian, Lincoln and Calistyn and brother in law William Lueders. Further survived by other family and friends. John is preceded in death by his daughter Julianne and his parents.
In the Army National Guard John served as the Military Police. After his time in the Army, John join the Milwaukee Fire Department achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He also was an instructor at the Bureau of Instruction and Training at the Milwaukee Fire and Police Academy.
From childhood John developed a passion for toy trains. He became well known throughout the country as a toy train collector and historian for the A.C. Gilbert, American Flyers and was a member of The Train Collectors Association Eastern Division and The Badgerland S-gaugers.
Together with his family their vacations took them to 49 of the 50 states.
