John Matthew Hirschmann passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep on May 6th, 2021, at the age of 62.
John was born in Milwaukee on September 20, 1958 to Mary (nee Kosler) and Clarence Elmer Hirschmann. John grew up in Milwaukee until the family eventually moved to Grafton in 1971.
Shortly after graduating from Grafton High School in 1976, he began his automotive career with Castle Dodge, eventually moving on to work at 5 Corners Dodge in Cedarburg where he became certified as a Master Technician in 1991. He moved on and became an instructor for Chrysler Corporation through TTI where he taught and learned with some of the finest technicians in the state of Wisconsin. John began work with ETE Reman in 2016 as a product support representative and technician, and eventually became a technical writer. John didn't see problems as obstacles, but rather an opportunity to teach, learn and grow throughout his entire career.
John was a Blues Music enthusiast. On Saturday mornings you could catch DJ Johnny Dodge playing his favorite "Full Throttle Blues" on Blues Music Fan Radio online. His love of music carried beyond his DJ time as he was known to start belting out whatever tune was in his head at the moment.
John was most proud of his children, always speaking highly of them, and he rarely passed up an opportunity to spend time with his family. He was always a kind and giving person who welcomed new friends while keeping the old. He was always willing to help those in need, even if it was just "giving his 2 cents" on things. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his children: Michael (Donna) Howarth, Cindy (Roger) Mueller, John M. Hirschmann II and Rory Hirschmann; grandchildren Jason Howarth and Sandra Howarth; brothers Michael, Douglas, Ronald and Kenneth and sister Kathleen Bobbe.
John is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
John is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hirschmann, mother Mary (nee Kosler) Hirschmann, sister-in-law Mardelle Hirschmann, and brother-in-law Alan Bobbe.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Rose-Harms Legion Post 355, 1540 13th Avenue, Grafton, WI 53024 for family and friends to gather to share their memories and honor John. In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations to Blues Music Fan Radio and Rawhide Boys Ranch are appreciated.
Johnny Dodge has signed off for the last time.
