John Marson

January 14, 1936 — March 9, 2017

John Carl Marson cheated death multiple times, until it finally won on March 9, 2017. Known for his stories and dry wit, John was a banana cutter (really!) in Wausau as a youth. Upon graduating high school, he joined the Navy where he served on the USS Hornet, among other locations. He was proud to be a drop forge hammerman in the UAW, loved to read, and whenever he spoke of his years coaching for the Muskego Athletic Association baseball teams, he would smile. He watched his grandchildren play football, soccer, wrestling and baseball, and had an eye for the individual worth of each player along with tips for how they could improve. He is survived by his children Dale (Ann), Dean (Debbie), and David Marson, and Colleen (Jim) McGuigan, his grandchildren, Dale (Alecia), Chris (Cari), Kennedy, Aiyanna, and Makiah, and his great-grandchildren Maddy, Jake, Alex, Ben, and Sierra. He is further survived by his sisters Arlene (Paul) and Jeanette (Dennis). He is preceded in death by his son, Don, brothers Verne and Dick, and ex-wife, Sandy (Maas). Services will be held at Schramka-Borgwardt Funeral Home at 11030 W. Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners, from 2-4pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 with a short service at 4pm. Flowers, or donations to the Muskego Athletic Association, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association, are welcomed.
