Karen J Helminski
, a proud Gemini born June 6, 1965, was peacefully reunited with her father on February 25, 2024.
Beloved daughter of James and Judith, sister to Laura (Tom) Ciesielski & Maggie (Don) Doyle, aunt to Stephanie (Brandon) Dodsworth, Elizabeth, Abby, David, Katie & many great nephews. Karen was raised in Hales Corners, graduating from Whitnall High class of 1983. She went on to attend Milwaukee Business Technical Institute earning certifications that kick started her career. Later in life, she found her home working for Gigaflight where she was part of their family.
Karen was unapologetically her authentic self. She was an animal lover, an afghan blanket connoisseur, glass collector and baseball fan. She loved checking out estate sales and antique shops in search of her next big find. She did this all while cruising top down in her blue convertible, blasting either oldies or some dance music. She might even be dancing a bit while
driving because of her love of dance. Like Dad, Karen was a patriot volunteering as a member of the VFW Auxiliary selling brats or poppy's and always driving in the 4
th
of July parade.
Karen is survived by the biological family mentioned above and our dear extended "family" including our big sister Nicci, Mary, brothers Bob & Larry and Karen's best friend from birth Cheri.
Her life will be celebrated in a service on Monday March 25, 2024 at 5:30 pm at the Schramka Funeral Home in Hales Corners followed by a burial this spring at St Martin of Tours in Franklin.
Karen was a fan of the rainbow of colors. Please wear your loudest, brightest outfit to celebrate her life with us.
We will miss Karen dearly, but take comfort in the fact that she is in a better place and finally at peace.
