Kathleen Anne "Kathy" Thompson (nee Gahan), 85, of Mequon, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, peacefully in her sleep while in her winter home in Orlando, Florida.
Kathleen, born on August 28,1937, was the only child of two adoring parents, Andrew and Catherine Gahan (nee Knar) in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She was a bundle of joy from the very beginning. Kathy was valedictorian of her high school class, was a highly-talented pianist, avid reader, and loving daughter. After graduating from Regis Catholic High School, Kathleen went on to pursue a degree in nursing at St.Mary's School of Nursing in Wausau, Wisconsin. Throughout her life she was a devoted member of the Catholic church.
During her lifetime, Kathleen became an adventurous pilot, eager hunter, fun golfer, world traveler, fabulous cook, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, good friend, and so much more. She had an avid social life at North Shore Country Club and was a frequent BINGO player (and winner). In addition, she had a love for chocolate, shopping, and regularly had luncheons with her "Ladies Lush" and dinner with the "Groupies" friends. Kathleen was an excellent storyteller, loved to tell jokes with her keen sense of humor, and she hosted endless pool parties for family and friends. She was intelligent, charming, witty, beautiful inside and out, and we will all miss her dearly.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Catherine Gahan, daughter, Catherine Anne Korolewski, and husband, Dr. Lee Thompson. She is survived by her partner, Eugene Laguban, daughter Joni (Mark) Schlicht, three sons, John (Sally) Korolewski, David (Chris Black) Korolewski and Lee (Maria) Thompson as well as nine grandchildren Ashley (Michael) Levesque, Christine (Christopher) Lehrmann, Andrew (Michelle) Korolewski, Jamie Korolewski, Kaitlyn Schlicht, Samantha Schlicht, Lee Thompson IV, Chrissy Thompson and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Lumen Christi Catholic Church at 2750 W. Mequon Road, Mequon, WI 53092. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m.
