Clark, Kenneth D. "Ken" Passed away on November 9, 2014, at the age of 97. Predeceased by his wife, Germaine (nee Pfister). Survived by his brother, Del. Loving father of Dennis (Lois), Richard (Gaye), and Patricia Kafura (Dan). Grandpa of Jacqueline (Randy), Kevin, Ryan (Terilee), Tiffany, and Shelly. Great-grandpa of 8 and great-great-grandpa of 4.
Ken was Treasurer of the Wisconsin Council of Senior Citizens and Treasurer of the World Federalist Association of Milwaukee. He was the Secretary and Coordinator of the Milwaukee County Labor Council's Golf Leagues. Ken was active in organized labor all his life. He served several terms as President of the Office and Professional Workers Local 9. He was instrumental in organizing the Office and Technical Workers of the International Harvester Company's Milwaukee plant and was President of that local for 15 years. During his 19 years at Harvester he was a time-study engineer, a plant layout engineer and tool designer. Ken was appointed to the staff of the United Fund in 1961 as Assistant Director of Labor participation. In 1970 Ken accepted a position with the Wisconsin AFL-CIO as Legislative Staff Representative. Ken retired from that job in 1982. He was also self-employed as an income tax preparer and accountant for over 50 years. This was a part-time business. Ken was a graduate of West Allis Central High School Class of 1935. He graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College's five year evening technical engineering program. In 1963 Ken graduated from the two-year General Education Course at MATC with honors. He continued taking college credit courses at UW-Milwaukee until 1973 when he was 56 years old. Ken supported and was active in many organizations, including the Socialist Party, the Public Enterprise Committee, the WI Consumers League, Moose Lodge 49, Atheists and Agnostics of Wisconsin and the American Atheist Society. In 1997 Ken was elected to the Milwaukee County Seniors Hall of Fame. Ken donated his body to the Medical College of Wisconsin.
A memorial gathering will be held on May 9, 2015 from 10AM until time of Remembrance at 11:30AM at the Schramka-Borgwardt Funeral Home, 11030 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, WI 53130.
