Kenneth M. Secora

Kenneth Michael Secora passed away peacefully at age 89, on September 22, 2026. He left behind a lifetime of memories and accomplishments.

He was born February 25, 1937. He was the youngest of five children to the late Michael and Sylvia (Shepreaux) Secora.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife Karole (nee Howard) with whom he shared an extraordinary 70-year marriage.

He is also survived by his five children: Tom (Janine), Terry (Irene), Tim, Leigh Anne (Greg), and Gary (Kelly), eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a devoted father who took pride in his family and the lives his children created. His family was one of his greatest accomplishments and a source of lasting pride.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Secora, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James (Emmi) Secora, Lawrence (Kay) Secora, Russell Secora and his sister Jean (Charles) Kerger; his sister-in-law Sharon Licht; and his brother-in-law Duane Licht.

Ken was largely self-taught, a man of many interests and talents, learning through curiosity, determination, and hands-on experience. That independent spirit carried into his career as a successful small-business entrepreneur at age 23. He had an inventive mind that was always curious about how things worked and how they could be made better.

He loved being social and always enjoyed talking to anyone. His countless jokes and shenanigans will live on as well as his many funny handshakes. He was an excellent bowler and enjoyed fishing in the beautiful waters of Canada. Other pastimes included riding motorcycles, ping-pong, camping and being a member of a garage band. He also proudly served his country in the Air Force National Guard.

One of Ken's great passions was Ham Radio, where he was known by his call letters, N9KS. For him, Ham Radio was much more than a hobby—it was a way to communicate with people around the world. He competed in Ham Radio Field Days and continually learned something new about electronics and radio waves.

His legacy lives on through his family, the knowledge he shared, and the memories he made throughout his remarkable life.

Rest in peace. Your radio waves may have gone quiet, but your memory will continue to be in the hearts of all who loved you. As he always said, “Saw ya Later!”
