Kevin N. Wahlgren

MENOMONEE FALLS – Kevin N. Wahlgren, age 45, of Menomonee Falls, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born on January 19, 1981, in Milwaukee, the son of Dennis Wahlgren and Joni Whitehouse.

Kevin was a 1999 Grafton High School graduate, where he was a proud member of the soccer team that went to State in 1998, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in information science at UW-Milwaukee in 2004. In 2017, he started his own company, U.S. Research Recruiting and Facilitation. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed sharing sports of all kinds with friends and family, fishing, participating in Fantasy Football (especially when he and Evan won the prize money at the end of the season), and working on his house and yard, but nothing brought him more pleasure than spending time with his son, Evan. Together they shared a passion for baseball and spent many hours playing catch, practicing batting and pitching. They spent a lot of time together in the kitchen, with both culinary successes and misadventures. They also enjoyed watching movies. Family vacations with Kevin’s mom & stepdad Dave Weske traveling together to Universal Studio in Florida, Seattle, and Boston, where they were able to attend MLB games in both Seattle and Boston, sitting behind the famous “Big Green Wall” and getting rained out in the 4th inning. Kevin loved all things Halloween – pumpkin carving, costumes and especially trick-or-treating. As a kid, he wanted only his fastest friends with him, so they cover more ground. As an adult, it became a whole family event. His niece Jade was his second most favorite person in the world. He often took care of her as a small child, reading, playing, practicing soccer, and teaching her to ride a bike without training wheels. He frequently spoke with pride about her accomplishments and adventures. Kevin was a fiercely protective brother to his sister Karen. While Kevin was playing soccer on a travel team, the whole family shared trips to Colorado and throughout the Midwest. Karen was one of his biggest fans. Kevin loved animals, especially dogs, most recently Evan’s dog Lizzy and Jade’s dog, Lucky. Kevin will be remembered for his quick wit, wry humor, and competitiveness.

As a small boy he loved his Grandma Whitehouse’s potato dumplings and homemade buns. He brought smiles to many faces when he loudly announced, “I love Grandma’s buns!” Holidays at his mom and Dave’s often ended with marathon Monopoly games. The competition could be fierce. Being a math wizard, Kevin was always the designated banker. Annual summer vacations to Tomahawk with the extended Wahlgren family and Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Wahlgren’s house are also special memories. Grandma Wahlgren’s Thanksgiving dinners and apple slices were other favorites of his. He enjoyed golfing with his Grandpa Whitehouse, who once made a sharp turn with the cart and sent Kevin flying down a hill.

Kevin is survived by his son, Evan; his step-children, Micah and Mia; his mother, Joni (David Weske) Whitehouse; sister, Karen Wahlgren (Rob Williams); niece Jade; step-brothers David (Sherri Schill) and Mark (Steph Weske) Weske; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in the Wahlgren and Whitehouse families; and Evan’s mother, Caitlin Morrissey Flood (Pete Kowalski) and many Grafton friends (and partners in crime), especially Jason Weimer (Christy Weimer), Erik Jordan (Kathleen Andrada Gagni Jordan), Rick Block (Laura Block), Erin Petersen (and her son Thomas Petersen), Adam Schultz, the Weimer, Schultz and Nowak families and many others (You know who you are). He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wahlgren; grandparents, Robert and Lois Wahlgren and Joseph and Julia Whitehouse; nephew David; and cousins, Andrew and Michelle.
