Leander Schmitt

Died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 26, 2016, age 89. Son of the late Jacob and the late Catherine. Beloved husband of Viola (nee Schickert). Dear father of Don (Marie), David (Chris), Tony (Joan), Gerald, Ron (Amy) and Darryl (Susan) Schmitt. Loving grandfather of Noelle (Andrew), Matthew, Jared (Kari), Taylor, Logan, Austin, Madison and Nathan. Loving great-grandfather of Ursula and Baby Schmitt on the way. Fond brother of Joseph Schmitt. Brother-in-law of Arlene Schmitt and Cecilia Frigge. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lee enjoyed going out to eat, casinos, all sports, travel and especially "The Farm". The family would like to thank Horizon Home Hospice for caring for dad in his last 10 days. Visitation Friday, April 29, 3-7 pm at the Schramka Funeral Home, W164 N9034 Water St., Menomonee Falls, with a Prayer Vigil at 7 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday, 10 am at St. Gabriel Church, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus. Burial to follow at St. Hubert Cemetery. Visitation Saturday at the Church from 9 am until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Gabriel Church would be appreciated.
