Age 93, was born to eternal life on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Ziegler, and her parents, Hugo and Hilma Olson. She was born in Chicago on October 12, 1926. She is survived by her son David, her son Paul and Paul's spouse Sue Ziegler. She is further survived by her grandsons Matthew, Mark (Samantha) and Michael and extended family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt.
She worked in a variety of locations in Chicago and Milwaukee as a switchboard operator, short-hand typist and Dictaphone transcriptionist. While she enjoyed her jobs and worked into her 70s, the many pictures of her family she surrounded herself with, especially of her grandchildren, displayed where her heart resided. She loved dogs and, as a child, fed the family's dinner to a stray dog during the Great Depression (to the dismay of her own mother). She met her lifelong friend who proceeded her in death, Roxie Johnson, at the annual Salvation Army Summer Camps that she attended outside of Chicago in the 1930s. She met her husband, Delbert, when a group of each of their friends jointly traveled to a Youth for Christ rally. She was joined in marriage with Delbert Ziegler in 1954. Together they raised their family in Wauwatosa and later moved to West Allis. Both Margaret and Delbert were long time members of First United Methodist Church of West Allis, Wisconsin. Despite growing limits in her physical abilities as she aged, she always wanted to do a little something for her family members to show her love. She will be deeply missed but always had a blessed assurance of her everlasting life with our Lord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, West Allis, or to the Salvation Army.
