Marilyn Balistrieri

October 18, 1934 — September 8, 2025

Marilyn L Balistrieri (nee Neuberger), a beacon of love and kindness, passed away on September 8, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family in Mequon, WI. Born on October 18, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI, Marilyn's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her faith, her family, and her community.

Marilyn's journey began as a student at St. Casimir Elementary School, culminating in her graduation from East Division High School, known today as Riverside. Her academic achievements laid the groundwork for her successful career as a Varitypist for the Telephone Company, where she led the department with grace and proficiency. However, her most significant life's work was the nurturing and raising of her seven beloved children, a role she embraced with all of her heart.

The love story that defined Marilyn's life began in grade school, where she met her soulmate, Frank. The two were inseparable and married in 1956, embarking on a remarkable journey that would have marked their 70th anniversary this May. Together, they welcomed their children into the world: Maria, with children Hilary and Stuart (wife Jessica, and great-grandchildren Otis and Mabel) and their father Larry; Loretta; Vince and his wife Donna, with children Michael (and great-granddaughter Lyla) and Vanessa married to David; Nick and his wife Debbie, with sons Evan and Owen; Joe, with children Rachel and Riley and their mother Julie; Pete and his wife Kristin, with children Salvatore and Lola; and Teresa, married to John, with daughters Isabella, Giada, and Luciana.

Marilyn's Catholic faith and family were the cornerstones of her life. She was a celebrated chef, renowned for her Sicilian cuisine, a skill lovingly passed down by her mother-in-law, Rose Balistrieri. Her culinary talents were only matched by her profound dedication to those around her. Marilyn was an active volunteer in many church organizations and provided invaluable support at her children's school, Our Lady of Good Hope.

Her brother Michael, along with numerous family members and friends, will remember Marilyn as the epitome of love, kindness, and selflessness. Her impact on those around her was immeasurable, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

Marilyn's unwavering support and guidance shaped her family, and her memory will be cherished in the countless stories of her selfless generosity, her effortless ability to dance, her deceptively sharp wit, her fierce support of those she loved and the warmth she brought to every room. Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the love of family, the joy of servant leadership, and the peace of her faith. As we bid farewell to Marilyn, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a spirit that will forever shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
