Mary Ann Alioto

December 24, 1938 — January 1, 2025

Mary Ann Alioto, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 24, 1938, Mary's life was a tapestry of warmth, creativity, and unwavering support for her loved ones. Her gentle spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Mary's life was defined by her devotion to her family. She is survived by her sister, Kathy (Jim) Lyons, and her cherished children: Madelene (Jim) Sherman, Angela Reuter, Annette (Jerry) Kachelmeyer, Peter (Lorie) Alioto, and Monica Alioto. Mary's legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever hold onto the precious memories and lessons she imparted. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Nardelli, with whom she now rests in peace. A matriarch in the truest sense, Mary was the heart of her family. She was always present when needed, offering a comforting word, a delicious meal, or a listening ear. Her culinary skills were unparalleled, and her kitchen was a place of joy, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of home-cooked meals. Mary's hands were not only skilled in the kitchen but also in the realm of art. As a talented painter, she captured the beauty of the world around her, leaving behind a legacy of stunning artwork that her family will treasure forever. Mary's love for nature was profound. She found solace and inspiration in the tranquility of the north woods, a place where she felt at one with the world. Feeding the squirrels and immersing herself in the beauty of the outdoors brought her immense joy. Her enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures was contagious, and she cherished annual traditions like visiting the state fair to collect free cookbooks and reveling in the festivities of Beef-A-Rama. Music and dancing were sources of happiness for Mary, and she shared this passion with everyone around her. Her kind and gentle soul found expression in the melodies and movements that brought her so much joy. Mary Alioto was the epitome of love, kindness, and gentleness. Her presence was a comforting embrace to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Mary's spirit will continue to dance in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the staff at Heartis Village for the exceptional care they took of mom.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday January 7, 2025 at Schramka Funeral Home, W164 N9034 Water Street, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051, from 10am to 12pm, followed by the funeral service.  In Lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society.  There will be no procession to the cemetery and Internment will be private.
