Hughes, Mary Ann
(Nee Donohue) She was born May 28, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN and on July 4th, Mary Ann passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family After 10 years without him, Mary Ann has gone to join her beloved husband Joseph, whom she has missed so dearly. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ednah. She is survived by her four loving children, Joseph (the late Bridget O'Brien), Mary Jo (James Crandall), Michael (Kathy), and Suzanne Bales (Christopher). She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, whom Joe and she loved and spoiled as much as possible: Joseph III (Becky), Erin Rinderle (Andrew), Evonne, Timothy (Courtney), Allyson, Alexis, and Hadley. In addition, she was the proud great-grandma of Brodi, Sophia, Vincent, Callan, Oscar, Lorelei, and Alaina. Mary Ann was committed to two things throughout her life: her family and service to others. She had rewarding and successful careers, and was proud and honored to have been elected to serve several terms on the Board of Directors for Catholic Financial Services (previously Catholic Knights). Mary Ann's commitment to helping others knew no bounds. She willingly gave her time to the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, where she served a term as President. As part of Catholic Knights Branch 216, she and Joe also spent many hours as volunteers at St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus. She also donated her time (and Joe's driving) to a number of other charitable organizations. On Wednesday, July 8th, there will be a visitation at 3pm at St. Anne's Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 4pm. Private family internment. The family wishes to extend its thanks and gratitude to the incredibly caring staff of St. Anne's, particularly those who made Mary Ann's final days so comfortable. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Mary Ann's name can be made to St. Anne's, enabling them to continue providing quality care
