Mary Jane Mutz

November 9, 1937 — September 14, 2023

(Nee) Schmidt, Mary passed away Thursday Afternoon September 14, 2023 while surrounded by the love of family at the age of 85. She was born November 9, 1937 to George and Emma Schmidt. Mary was raised on a farm on Mill Road and 76 ^th street in Milwaukee. She also worked at AT&T, then Brown Deer school lunch program, and as a seamstress for Gertie Fox. In her free time she read a lot, made lap robes and afghans for nursing homes and Veterans, Counted cross stitch and puzzles. She was a very giving person, always taking care of others. On June 14, 1958 she married Walter Mutz of Granville, and together they raised 5 children. They both were inseparable, loving the same things, gardening, cooking, (Dad eating Mom's baked goods), especially going up north to Hazelhurst every chance they got or sitting on the deck and watching the birds and deer in the backyard, and spending time with family. Survived by her 5 children; Jeff (Barb), Tim, Tom (Kim), Sharon (Eric) and Greg, grandchildren; Paul (Amanda), Chris (Jolene), Steven (Lindsey), Nicole, Ben (Brooke), Doug and Megan (Erich), 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Wally, parents George and Emma, and brothers John (Vernie), Lee (Bev), Matt and Joe (Gertie). Visitation will be held Saturday September 23 at the Funeral Home, from 2pm until time of Service at 4 pm. Private interment at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church Cemetery. Special thanks to all her caregivers. Though she is no longer with us, we can be comforted knowing that after the Resurrection, we will see her again in Paradise. No tears, no regrets, no crying.
