Michael Slosiarek

Mike passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by Carolyn, his beloved wife of more than 60 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Slosiarek and Verna (nee Wilhems), his brother, Fred Maypark and sister-in-law Irene Maypark (nee Bettendorf) and nephew David Maypark. Loving father of four wonderfully talented children: Suzanne (Paul) Bettendorf of West Allis, WI; Christine (Terry) Foss of Phoenix, AZ; James (Angie) of Cedar Rapids and Andrew (Elizabeth of Leicester NC. Also survived by grandchildren Danielle (Matt) Breyfogle, Cody Krause, Conner Krause, Katie Slosiarek, Olivia Slosiarek and Cooper Slosiarek, great-grandchildren Keira, Amara and Gauge. He is also survived by sister-in-law Lynn Davis and former son-in-law Dwayne (Susie) Krause. Further survived by nieces and nephews, Fred Maypark, Dan, Duke and Mark Forster, Judy Owens, Tammy Perkins, Robin Hueckstaedt, Kevin and Bryan Kanieski, Patrick and Crisse Forster, Cynthia Grandstaff, Holly and Stephanie Filardo, and Becki Krupp, and his sisters-in-law Kathy Forster and Sue Forster. Mike was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 26, 1940. He was a long-time resident of Milwaukee and attended historic Trinity Ev. Lutheran school & church before attending Boys Technical High School graduation in 1958 and moving on to the Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduating with a BSME degree in 1962. Mike's 50-year engineering career covered various responsibilities and achievements including patent awards assigned to Allis Chalmers Corp. and Rome Industries Inc. Mike enjoyed traveling as a youth and often spoke of the 49 states he had been in or through and his desire to pass this experience on to his family as they traveled on summer vacations. Mike met his future wife Carolyn on a blind date in 1959 and they married in 1963. He enjoyed coaching Little League and AAU baseball teams. Mike was active with BSA Christmas wreath fund-raising for troop 754. Through the years he enjoyed bowling and golfing with various friends at many fine establishments available in Southeast Wisconsin. He also liked playing sheepshead and is looking forward to joining the gang in heaven. Private services were held.
