Miriam “Bonnie” S. Patton (nee Angelos)
Miriam Patton was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, June 6, 2026. She was blessed to have the love and support of family and friends near and far especially in these last years.
Bonnie was born July 18, 1937 to Peter and Catherine Angelos of West Allis, WI. She graduated from Nathan Hale High School where she first met Robert “Bob” Patton who was later to become her husband of 60 years.
After moving to Cedarburg. Bonnie was active in Junior Women’s club making candy apples and acting in plays. She also was a leader for the Senior (high school) Girl Scout troop learning to camp and canoe along with Bob and her daughter, Joy. Later she was active in local government serving on the Cedarburg Recreation Committee and also with the Commission on Aging for Ozaukee County.
Bonnie was a women of faith. She’s been a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church, Mequon for over 60 years. She was a Senior High advisor, taught Sunday school, an ordained elder, and passionate about mission especially anything that involved feeding people. She organized making lunches and serving a snack at Cathedral Center, cooking dinner at Agape and making lunches for “build weeks” for Habitat for Humanity all in Milwaukee. She was recognized by Cathedral Center as their Woman of the Word for 2017.
Always a sewer and needleworker, Bonnie found a group that shared her passion once she learned to smock. She was an earlier member of the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) and served as its president from 1982-1984. She made lifelong friends with other board members and local members. Her passion for sewing was also combined with mission work, when she, with others, led sewing classes for kids at Agape. While not necessary a quilter, she loved working with others on the quilt mission at Crossroads. She continued to sew and knit as long as she could. She was even planning the next project in the last weeks of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, brother Cldye Angelos and sister Mary Risse. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Patton and her husband, Neil Sass. She is also survived by brother Pete Angelos, his wife Joann, sisters Sylvia Dethloff and Becky Fugger as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
The family thanks the staff at Hamilton House for their care of Miriam for the last 2 years.
