Patricia Jo Schneider

November 3, 1948 — March 22, 2025

Pat Schneider (nee Heim) of Brookfield was born to eternal life on March 22, 2025, age 76.  Beloved wife of 52 years to Ken Schneider, loving mother to Jim (Vanessa) Schneider and Michelle (Keith) Van Vreede, proud and adoring grandmother of Louie and Teddy Van Vreede, and Lucas Schneider.  She is further survived by sisters-in-law Alice (late Mervin) Kaisler, Stevie (late William) Heim, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents Julius and Ruth Heim, brothers Ronnie Galligan, Mike Heim, and brother-in-law Donald Schneider. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.  The staff and volunteers went above and beyond to support and care for Pat, her family, and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 9:00-11:00am at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church (1650 N Brookfield Rd., Brookfield, WI 53045).  Funeral Service to begin at 11:00am. Interment will be private for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's name to Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Brookfield or Wounded Warrior Project. Pat spent her early years residing in Milwaukee, WI.  After graduating from South High School, she went on to study nursing at UW-Milwaukee.  While in school at UWM, she met her husband, Ken, in 1969.  They married on October 14, 1972 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.  Pat graduated from nursing school in 1974 and worked on the heart surgery floor at St. Luke's Hospital for several years.  She was always very proud of her role as an RN.  She had a genuine passion for helping others. After having her first child in 1977, Pat took on the role she treasured the most, being a stay-at-home mom.  She truly dedicated her life to nurturing her family in every way possible.  She volunteered any chance she could.  She never missed an opportunity to be a room mom, field trip chaperone, girl scout and boy scout leader.  For several years, she volunteered in the health room at Brookfield Central High School as a nurse.  She was also an active participant in the Brookfield Jr Woman's Club and helped at many events in the community. Pat loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers displayed outside her home.  She was especially proud of her rose bushes.  She enjoyed baking, especially making cakes.  She made all of her children's birthday cakes, cakes for every holiday, and even a wedding cake for a friend.  She was an avid and talented scrapbooker.  She made baby books for her children, books of family vacations, and wedding books for both of her children. Pat loved to travel with her family, especially to Arizona.  Pat and her family spent over 20 years traveling to Arizona for spring break.  Pat also traveled with Ken all around the world, sometimes by themselves and other times with friends.  Some of their most notable trips include Hawaii, Alaska, Hong Kong, Russia, Israel, many European countries, and several cruises. Pat eventually developed a love for golf.  She was involved in several ladies' leagues with friends from her book club, but also enjoyed quiet nights on the course with Ken. One of Pat's greatest joys in life was being a grandmother.  She spent as much time with her 3 grandsons as she could.  Some of her favorite things to do with her grandchildren were making Christmas cookies, decorating Easter eggs, and coloring.  When she wasn't with them, she was talking about them or showing people pictures of them. Pat eventually joined her husband in working at Wells Fargo.  She spent 25 years helping Ken build the Schneider Investment Group.  She worked with Ken until her health problems no longer allowed for her to do so. The only thing greater than Pat's love for her family and friends was her deep-rooted faith. She immersed herself in her church community in several ways.  She found great joy in attending bible study groups with fellow parishioners, was an active member on prayer chains, helped with set up and clean up for communion, and taught Sunday School. Pat's passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends.  She was the most loving, caring and sweet woman.  We will all miss her deeply.
