Passed peacefully with her family on March 10, 2021. She was 79 years old. Survived by her husband Francis Joseph, her son Todd (Jennifer Foley), daughter Megan, brother John (Barbara), nieces Treena and Tricia and other family and friends.
A loving wife, mother, and avid quilter, Peggy was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 10, 1941. She grew up in West Allis, WI. She earned an Associate's Degree from Waldorf College in 1961, an LPN at Moraine Park Technical College in 1976, a B.S. in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1982, and a Master's of Science in Education Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1984. She married Francis in 1967 in Wackernheim, Germany where Francis was stationed during his time with the US Army. Peggy and Francis settled in Jackson WI and raised their son and daughter.
Peggy was passionate about her counseling work at Moraine Park Technical College where she counseled and mentored women re-entering the workforce. Peggy began quilting in the 1980's, starting with colorful postage stamp quilts for friends and family. Her quilting skills expanded to complex designs, influenced by colonial motifs and fabrics. Peggy was a member of numerous quilting groups in the local area and imparted great memories and laughs to all.
Although her favorite hobby was quilting, many would say it was also reading. Peggy's library at home was always in heavy rotation, with her reading numerous novels and stories each year. Her favorite author was Charles Dickens and coming in a close second is James Michener. Fran's nickname for Peggy was "Shorty" and he hopes Shorty puts in a good word for him with the "The Guy Upstairs". We love you and miss you, Peg.
