Phyllis Waggoner

July 17, 1933 — December 8, 2024

Phyllis Fay Waggoner (nee Dorsey) passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, at age 91. Dear Mother of Paula Haberlein (Dennis) and Mark Waggoner (Laurie Kennedy). Loving grandmother to Joseph, Ryan, Steve (Shari), and Gina. Great grandmother of Parker, Brinn, Mason, Taylor, and Hazel. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard Waggoner; Mother, Opal Dorsey; Father, Fred Dorsey; and brother, Mel Dorsey. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She started her work life as a school bus driver for New Berlin Public Schools when both of her children were in school, she then went on to do assembly work at Briggs and Stratton. After 26 years of service Phyllis retired. During this time she also attended WCTI, and earned her Associate Degree in Marketing. Phyllis was a very dedicated wife and mother. She always kept a warm, inviting home. Her hobbies included planting flowers, reading, listening to music, walking, feeding the birds, doing things with family and friends, going to Brewers' games, watching the Packer games, and volunteering at church. Phyllis spent much of her life giving to others with her many friends at First Baptist Church, located in Waukesha, WI. She loved to sing in the adult choir and directed the Children's Treble Choir. She performed Wellness visits of those who were sick in their homes, as well as volunteered to serve many Loaves and Fishes meals. Getting together with family and friends was something she loved very much. She was so welcoming and loving. Her smile and laugh were her trademark. Phyllis was such a sweet person, who will be missed by all who knew her. Her talent of preparing wonderful meals and baking homemade desserts will be a memory long held by everyone lucky enough to experience it. Much of the fruit came from their own apple, pear and crabapple trees and fresh vegetables came from the garden. They were all tended by her husband, Bud. A private, graveside funeral will be held by the immediate family. A special thank you to Linden Grove New Berlin staff in both the Memory Care unit and the Long Term Care unit. Your compassion and care are appreciated.
