Raymond Kastern

October 27, 1982 — July 7, 2021

Raymond H. Kastern III died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, July 7. Ray was a beloved father, son, grandson, uncle and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Many of his favorite memories took place "Up North" with family and friends. Ray also loved sports, and rooted for the Brewers and Packers, for better or worse. Ray graduated from Greenfield High School in 2001 and attended Milwaukee Area Technical College. He worked as a generator technician, performing maintenance and testing on generators at power plants. His work took him all over the U.S. and beyond, but he always returned to his beloved home state of Wisconsin. Ray is survived, first and foremost, by his two children, Evalynn and Maximus Kastern. Eva and Max were a true source of joy in his life, and he cherished them beyond words. Ray is also survived by his parents, Raymond and Mary Ellen Kastern, grandmother Alice Kastern, sisters Sarah Kastern and Amanda Kastern (Steven Beitzel), nieces and nephews Abby, Nate, Sam and Ellie, and aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to count. Ray was preceded in death by his grandfathers Raymond H. Kastern, Sr. and Lawrence Schmidt, and his grandmother Berenice Schmidt. Ray's family is organizing a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
