Rita Sobcoviak

Sobcoviak, Rita (Nee Stanaway) was peacefully called to her eternal home in Heaven on October 21, 2016 at the age of 74. She was the only child of Avelyn and William, born in Milwaukee. She is survived by her husband David, the love of her life, her dog Millie, cousins from Colorado and California, as well as her John Long family. Attending UWM, Rita became a teacher. Many students at John Long Middle School in Grafton will remember her enthusiasm for learning. She was a devoted teacher there for more than 30 years. Rita was a private person who loved animals and even had a dog that went with her to school and became a class pet. She was quite an artist and skilled at painting and arranging items in a pleasing manner. Most important was her faith and trust in God. She was a devoted member of St. Peter Immanuel Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28 at the funeral home at 12 PM. Visitation from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Wisconsin Humane Society appreciated.
