Robert Charles Andersen Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Friday August 9, 2024. He was born on March 21,1938 in Kenosha, WI, the son of Floyd C. Andersen and Lillian Geneva Andersen (nee Hix). He attended Mary Bradford High School, Spencerian Business School and University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and earned a BBA degree in accounting. Bob married Judith Cudahy on September 14, 1963 and they moved to the Milwaukee suburbs to start their married life. Bob worked for Wisconsin State Fair as an accountant and Wisconsin Gas Company as an internal auditor and manager of financial planning and analysis. Bob retired in 1994 but continued to run his accounting and tax business until 2004. Bob and Judy spent winters in Arizona and enjoyed warm weather, family, friends, and golf. Bob studied drumming and became a professional musician. Bob also earned the certified management accountant and enrolled agent certificate to practice before the IRS. In his spare time, Bob was president and treasurer of the drum and bugle corps that his kids attended. Bob has also been a member of the Milwaukee chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, served as president in 1979-1980 and as a member and treasurer of the IMA Ex-club Milwaukee chapter. Bob also coached the Nicolet High School kids wrestling team. One of his fondest memories was winning the Wisconsin State wrestling title in 1956 and later elected to his high school sports hall of fame. Bob and Judy spent a lot of time traveling with family and friends. They were able to travel to and play golf in all 50 states, a personal goal.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Judy, his son Robert Jr. (Bridget) Andersen, daughter Laura (Scott) Hansbury, son John Andersen; grandchildren Calvin (Colleen) Andersen and their children Ellis, Oona, and Magnus; Erin (Cameron) Covington; Melanie (Tyler) Burton and their children Charlotte and Theodore; Ethan Andersen; Regan Andersen; Sydney Andersen; Michael White Jr.; Mya White; Brianna Hansbury; Brandon (Natalie) Andersen and their son James;; Nicholas Andersen; Henry and Benjamin Kaeppel; his Aunt Lillian Andersen; brother William Andersen; sister Marge (Glenn) Meier; brother George (Lynn) Andersen and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Nathan Andersen and sister-in-law Arlene Andersen.
Visitation will be at Schramka Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls on Thursday August 15
th
from 10-11:30am with a funeral service to follow. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mequon. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin.
