Robert Zancig

Passed away peacefully December 13, 2015 age 85. Devoted husband of the late Naomi (nee Holzhausen). Loving father of Robert Jr. (Nancy), Susan (James) Lawrence, Carol (Wesley) Mills, Jane (the late Leon) Luker, Linda (Carl) Plehaty III, and Mary (Mark) Urban. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sisters Alice (Dave) Hermann and Helen (Ed) Mueller. Bob was born and raised in Thiensville and was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, South Mequon. He was a member of the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and was an original employee of the Gilbert Shoe Company. He was a former employee of Harley Davidson Thiensville, Schramka-Densow Funeral Home, and was a groundskeeper at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Bob enjoyed camping with his family, gardening, and deer hunting. His most important treasures were his family and faith. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 16 at 2 PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, South Mequon, 10001 N. Cedarburg Rd, Mequon. Visitation 12 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to WELS Special Ministries or Lawlis Family Hospice appreciated.
