Sandra Lynn Gomez (née Reske)
Born into Eternal Life on Monday, June 9, 2025
Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Gomez was born in Milwaukee, WI, on July 3, 1949, to the late Bernard and Mary Reske. She was the second youngest of nine children.
Sandy is survived by her beloved sons, Victor and Miguel Gomez. She was a cherished sister to Beverly "Fay" (the late Frank) Lyman, Thomas (Joan) Reske, Judith (the late Jerome) Michalek, and Wayne Reske, and was preceded in death by siblings Ronald Reske, Robert (Susan) Reske, Lawrence (Mary) Reske, and Suzanne Gasser. Sandy was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a special great-aunt to their children. A few affectionately knew her as "Tía." Sandy also held dear her extended family and her "Coffee Shop Friends."
A devoted mother, Sandy gave her sons the gifts of love, guidance, and strong values. Sandy's family was her greatest pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Sandy began her career as a medical transcriber at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee before moving to Miami, FL, where she started her family and continued as a medical transcriber as well as a day care worker at Northwest Christian Academy. After 12 years, she returned to Milwaukee and worked in retail at JCPenney, Kmart, and Big Lots, where she formed lasting friendships with coworkers and customers alike.
A woman of deep faith, Sandy was a devoted member of Layton Avenue Baptist Church in Greenfield, where she served as church secretary and was dearly loved by her church family. Her unwavering belief in Jesus Christ and commitment to Christian fellowship were the foundation of her life and brought her great peace and purpose.
