Sandra Ellen “Sandy” Jones, 84, went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2026. She was born December 12, 1941 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse Homer Matthewman and Allene Marie “Peggy” King.
Sandy lived her life with one singular aim—to know and love her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From her devotion to Him, flowed her abundant love to her treasured family. Children: Mark Jones and wife Teri, Brad Jones, Kelly (Jones) Garcia and husband John. Beloved Grandchildren: Mark Jones and wife Brittany, the late Christopher Jones, Alexandra Garcia, Elizabeth (Garcia) O’Gorman and husband Brennan. Great-Grandchildren: Ryan and Emily Jones, and Isla and Henley O’Gorman. One sister: the late Jo Ann MacGillivary, and seven nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Terre Haute, Sandy and former husband, the late Vernon Jones owned and operated The Albert Pick Motel which later led to her opening her own Christian Bookstore, The Connection. Sandy later followed her desire to attend Bible School in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Rhema Bible Training College and spent many years working for Dillard's as a Wedding Consultant and happily volunteering in her church. In her later years she moved to Wisconsin to be near family. She had many dear friends whose lives she blessed with love and care and enjoyed the same in return.
Sandy was known for her strong faith, love and kindness to everyone, her love of Tea Time, stylish wardrobe, expert design sense, love of books, and her resilience in the midst of adversity.
Put simply, her life mattered. She impacted her family and the world around her with her love and abundant gifts. Proverbs 31:28 states that “Her children rise up and call her blessed.” There is no doubt she’s now in Heaven, healed and whole, praising God, and making everything even more beautiful!
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Complete Care at Germantown and Horizon Hospice for her end of life care.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 12:30 pm at Faith Journey Church N120 W21580 Freidstadt Rd, Germantown WI 53022 262-229-4245. The service will be led by Son-in-Law, Pastor John Garcia, and also live streamed (FaithJourneyChurch.org) for those who are unable to attend. A private burial will take place at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN.
