Shirley Goetz (nee Hallett) died peacefully on April 6, 2026, age 90 years. She was the loving wife of Harry, who she was married to for 63 years. Shirley was the loving mother of Richard (Donna), Kathleen, Robert (Kelly), loving grandmother of Andrew (Mikayla), Emily (Matt), Katie (Howard), and Jon (Alison), and loving great grandmother of Aubrey, Joseph, and Betsy.
Shirley is further survived by her sister Carol Fuhrer and brother Kenneth Hallett; sisters-in-law Anne Hallett, Adelle Gartzke, Harriette Thomson, and Carol Torres; and brothers-in-law Dan Thomson, Terry Torres, and Alan Goetz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Harry, and her mother and father Agnes (nee Jagiello) and Kenneth Hallett.
Shirley’s family was the most important part of her life, and she cherished the times she was able to spend with them. She also enjoyed the time that she was able to spend with her extended family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards with her friends.
Shirley was a preschool teacher at the YMCA and a grade school teacher at St. Anthony’s parish school in Menomonee Falls for many enjoyable years.
During the last years of her life, Shirley lived at the Serenity Villa assisted living facility and loved being part of that extended family. The Goetz family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Villa for their fabulous care and genuine outpouring of love, compassion, and support for Shirley during her entire time with them.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.
