Shirley I. Orlopp (Herrmann), 91, of Walnut Shade, Missouri passed away July 17, 2021, after a short illness with family at her side. Shirley was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 3, 1929, to Pearl M. (Cornelius) and Erwin H. Herrmann.
She was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from the Wisconsin State Teachers College (Univ. of WI at Milwaukee). After moving to Glen Ellyn Illinois, she pursued and received a graduate degree of education from the University of Illinois. Shirley went on to a long and successful teaching career that ended with her position as the Director of Special Education for the Lisle Illinois township of schools. Throughout her life Shirley was active in Job's Daughters, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA President, Junior Women and Women's Club of Glen Ellyn, member of Phi Delta Kappa and a 50+ year member of Faith Lutheran Church.
She is lovingly remembered by her children R. Paul Orlopp (Jill), Nancy C. Mohr (Thomas), James C. Orlopp; Grandchildren Jordan M. Mohr, Tyler M. Mohr, Victoria P. Orlopp; Great Granddaughter Sadie M. Orlopp-Fonorow. Shirley was predeceased by her loving mother Pearl, father Erwin and brother Eugene P. Herrmann.
