Stephen Dominic Italiano, born November 18, 1965, passed away on February 20, 2024. Anyone who knew Steve would say that he was a big spirit with an even bigger heart, generous and loyal beyond measure. All too soon and after a bout of RSV, that full heart had no more to give. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Barbara (nee Novak ); his sisters, Julie Italiano Thomas (David) and Karen (née Hartz) Offen (Richard); his aunt, Patti Nault; his sister-in-law, Jane Novak (Terry King); his mother-in-law Sharon Novak-Tym; and his adoring nieces and nephews: Dominic Thomas (Meghan), Erin Thomas, Madelyn Thomas, Jonathon Thomas (Bri Bliesner), and Joseph Hartz as well as countless cousins across the country who considered him a brother. He is preceded in death by his parents Nunzio and Darlene Italiano (nee Nault). Making friends wherever he went and maintaining those relationships throughout the years, Steve's circle of those he loved was large. Beginning his elementary years at Our Lady of Good Hope School and Parish, he then matriculated to Dominican High School (Class of '84) where he found a passion for all aspects of theater, but especially comedy. After graduation he trained as a mechanic, but his interest in computers led him to his true passions of photography, filming, and podcasts. He spent countless hours recording plays for First Stage Children's Theater, and photographing his friends' kids at work in their sports leagues all over the state. The senior pictures he took were stunning. With a voice made for radio, Steve spearheaded several podcasts to shine a light on Milwaukee's hidden treasures, new talent, and unsung heroes, including his latest, Be Kind, Be Nice. Steve liked nothing better than being in command of his kitchen, preparing a delicious feast for a large group of friends and family, gathering them around his dining table to celebrate a holiday or a Packer game with plenty of jokes and belly laughs to go around. He will be deeply missed by so many, but we know he is no doubt now preparing a place at his table ready to welcome us all. Visitation for Steve will be Tuesday, February 27, from 2:30 to 5:30 PM at the Schramka Funeral Home, 13220 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 PM.
