Schmidt, Susanne
(nee Tietgen) Town of Lisbon, age 52, met Jesus face to face on March 29, 2015 after a fierce 7 month battle with cancer. Sue was the beautiful and cherished wife of Kurt for 27 years and a loving and devoted mother to Rachel (21) and Zachary (19.) She truly loved being a wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her beloved father Hans Tietgen, grandparents, and first fiancé Randy Shull. She is survived by her treasured and loving mother Elke Tietgen, adored brother Thomas (Lisa) Tietgen, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Germany, as well as mother-in-law Nancy Schmidt, sister-in-law Kelley Rummler, brother-in-law Craig (Deb) Schmidt and brother-in-law Kevin Schmidt and many very special and beloved nephews and nieces. Sue cherished and deeply loved all of her family and many special and close friends. She did much to support and encourage everyone and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Saturday, April 4th from 11 am – 4 pm at Divine Redeemer Church (31385 West Hill Road, Hartland), Service at 4 pm.
Sue's athleticism at Menomonee Falls East High School was renowned. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from UW Stevens Point. After a 10 year career in Human Resources at Wacker Corporation, her loving husband Kurt supported her 15+ years of nearly full time volunteering at Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church and School where she sang in the praise band, taught women's bible study, managed the gift shop, and much more. Sue was an inspiration in her spirit of generosity and willingness to serve. Sue celebrated life, was great fun to be with, and a gifted story teller and communicator. She spread the teaching and belief of Jesus and Christianity in action and in word, even when it was outside of her comfort zone. In our immense sorrow and grief we have great peace knowing that she is joyously celebrating eternity.
