Suzanne Booz
September 22, 1936 — July 22, 2025
Suzanne was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI, to Evelyn and Arthur Laubach.
She devoted herself to her family and parishioners of St. James Catholic Church in Mequon and later St. Cecelia in Thiensville, often soloing for church choirs, funerals, and weddings. Suzanne was well known in the community as a piano teacher. She taught piano, arranged recitals, and accompanied her students in State music competitions for more than 40 years. She was also a marvelous seamstress, making clothes and even wedding attire for many family members.
Sue is survived by daughter Collette LaValey of Sheffield Lake, OH, son James Darkow (Sharon) of Fox Lake, WI, daughter Catherine VonEschen of Victoria, MN, and grandchildren Carolyn LaValey (Matt Obenauer), and William and James VonEschen; as well as other relatives and friends.
Family would like to thank the nursing staff of Optage Hospice and Flagstone Care Center (formally Castle Ridge) in Eden Prairie, MN for their loving care during Sue's long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated:
