Ted was an alumnus of Don Bosco High School, where he excelled as an All-State Athlete in three sports. He was awarded a football scholarship to Northwestern University for his skills as a quarterback. During his freshman year, he was picked by the Detroit Tigers to play as a Third Baseman. After a five-year stint with the Tigers, he continued to play semi-professional baseball across southeastern Wisconsin for the following two decades. Ted's dedication to baseball led him to coaching roles at various high schools and colleges, and he worked as a scout for several MLB teams. Besides his love for baseball, Ted took great joy in spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He was a fervent supporter of his family's athletic pursuits, often traveling throughout the Midwest and beyond to see them play. Wherever Ted or his children went, he was frequently recognized and invariably described as not only a remarkable athlete but also a really nice guy.
