Therese B. Blaski

Jan 14, 1935 — Oct 24, 2026

Hales Corners

Therese “Tess” Blaski, nee Karpfinger, left us too soon, 91 years young, on Oct. 24, 2026. A quiet, joyful spirit, curious and creative, she loved her family, work, home and garden, gently nurturing every human and plant she met.
An Alverno Nursing School graduate of 1958, Tess cared for many Milwaukeeans while working at St. Mary's and Children's hospitals, ‘54-‘62; the Southside's Johnson's Emergency, 60s-70s; and Milw. County Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center. She worked at her last job for more than 20 years.
She also used her nursing knowledge to care for her parents and her husband, Jerry, through his fight with Parkinson's, in their home until his passing.
She was an amazing, patient, wise and giving mom, grandma and great-grandma, and also loved and nurtured her many nieces and nephews.
Tess took great comfort in her Catholic faith, was a member of St. Mary's, Hales Corners, parish for 50 years, and was previously a member of St. Charles Borromeo and St. James, Oak Creek, parishes.
Survived by her children Catherine (James Liptack), Gerald, Ronald, and Christine; grandkids Jacob and Max (Hannah) Liptack; Jack (Dayse), Alexandra and Arabella Blaski; Canyon and Caden Caperton; great-grandkids Dominic and Calvin Liptack; brother Jake (Becky), and sister-in-laws Barbara and Nancy Karpfinger.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Gerald J. Blaski; parents Maria and Karl Karpfinger; siblings Charles, Barney, Norbert, Tony and Pete; in-laws Clara and Edmund Blaszczynski; best friend Marjorie Zamorski, and many other dear relatives and friends.
Special thanks to her many amazing caregivers at StoryPoint Mequon Memory Care, Lily Hospice, and Horizon Lawlis Hospice.
Services will be held Wed., Nov. 11 at St. Mary's in Hales Corners. Visitation at 10am, Mass at 11.
In memory of Tess, try to wear something the bright blue color of her eyes.
The following was listed in Tess's Sr High School yearbook as her favorite song. The lyrics are so poignant now:
Somewhere Along The Way
(Sung by Nat King Cole
Music written by Jimmy Van Heusen, under the pseudonym Kurt Adams, with lyrics by Sammy Gallop.)
I used to walk with you
Along the avenue
Our hearts were carefree and gay
How could I know I'd lose you
Somewhere along the way?
The friends we used to know
Would always smile "Hello"
No love like our love they'd say
Then love slipped through our fingers
Somewhere along the way
I should forget
But with the loneliness of night I start remembering ev'rything
You're gone and yet
There's still a feeling deep inside
That you will always be part of me
So now I look for you
Along the avenue
And as I wander I pray
That some day soon I'll find you
Somewhere along the way
I should forget
But with the loneliness of night I start remembering ev'rything
You're gone and yet
There's still a feeling deep inside
That you will always be part of me
So now I look for you
Along the avenue
And as I wander I pray
That some day soon I'll find you
Somewhere along the way
Somewhere along the way
