Thomas Robert Chase, widely known as Tom or TC, was born on April 30, 1954, in Milwaukee, WI. He passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2023. Tom was a loving brother, an affectionate father, and a great companion to many. Tom is survived by his sisters Sue Kniess and Duke, Sandy Ransanici and RT, Sharon Belk, his brother Jeffrey Chase and Dawn, his son Clayton Chase and Chelsea, and his ex-wife Carol Chase. He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth "Betty" Chase (nee Goralski) and Robert "Bob" Chase, and his brother Jimmy Chase. Tom was a devoted and proud Milwaukeean, who dedicated his lifelong career to serving his community as a union carpenter. His hard work and dedication were matchless, and he left behind an incomparable legacy of craftsmanship and integrity. His work was not just a job, it was a passion that brought joy to his life and those around him. Beyond his work, Tom had an enormous love for the outdoors. He found peace in nature and loved fishing, hunting, and camping. Going up north was his favorite getaway where he enjoyed bonfires under the starry skies, boating in his fishing boat and ATV rides. His love for tent camping, ice fishing and deer camp with his brothers, son and friends was known to everyone who got the chance to know him. He often referred to himself as the "walleye king". His adventures were a testament to his free spirit and love for life. Tom was not just a man of work and adventure, but also a man with a green thumb. He thoroughly enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden and took great pride in his flowers. He found joy in the simple pleasure of feeding the birds and squirrels that visited his garden. His love for nature extended to his cooking as well, where he used his homegrown vegetables to prepare meals that brought smiles to many faces. Known for his quick wit and humor, Tom had an unparalleled ability to bring laughter into any room, known for his "one-liners". He was funny, but beyond that, he was a selfless man who always put the needs of others before his own. His sense of selflessness was deeply admired by his family and friends. Tom's handy skills were also a significant part of his personality. Whether it was a leaky faucet or a broken chair, Tom was always ready to fix things, making him the go-to handyman. Tom didn't confine his love to his immediate family. He had a wide circle of friends and relatives whom he loved visiting. He was a familiar face at family gatherings and reunions, traveling near and far to spend time with loved ones. His neighbors were part of his extended family, and he cherished the moments he spent with them. Looking back, Tom's life was a tapestry of beautiful memories filled with love, laughter, and service. He created a legacy that will continue to inspire generations. His zest for life, unending love for family and friends, passion for his work, and love for nature will always be remembered. His life was a testament to the fact that a life lived for others is a life well-lived. We mourn the loss of Thomas Robert Chase, but we also celebrate a life lived to the fullest.
