Thomas F. Schramka Sr.

Thomas Francis Schramka, Sr., of Richfield, WI, and Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in 1938 to the late Eugene and Rose (née Fons) Schramka, Tom was raised on Milwaukee’s east side above the family’s funeral home. With strong Catholic roots established at St. Mary Czestochowa grade school and parish, he later met Jeanne (née Hoffmann) at Messmer High School, beginning a 66-year marriage centered around family and faith.

A graduate of Marquette University, Tom dedicated his career to serving families throughout metro Milwaukee. Alongside his brothers, Paul and Eugene, he was a third-generation funeral director at Schramka Funeral Homes, continuing a tradition of service that began in 1892. Tom was a parishioner at St. Gabriel Parish for over 40 years and an active member of the Richfield Lions Club.

Together, Tom and Jeanne loved traveling and creating wonderful memories throughout their marriage.

Known for his sense of humor and love of a good prank, Tom was a joy to be around, and laughter followed him wherever he went. He had a real passion for home projects, from landscaping to hand-finishing the woodwork in his home. Throughout years of health challenges, his humor, optimism, and devotion to St. Padre Pio remained strong. He never complained and always found ways to joke with his doctors and caregivers, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who cared for him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children, Thomas Jr. (Mary), Joan Marsho (Steve), Jane Cohen (Michael), Catherine, and Joseph; and his five grandchildren, Charles Schramka (Julia), Andrew Schramka, Madeline Cohen, Frances Cohen, and Blaise Marsho as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Rose (née Fons) Schramka, and his brothers, Paul and Eugene.

Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus, WI, on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at St. Hubert Cemetery in Hubertus, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial donations to Saint Francis de Sales Seminary or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
