Virginia Lee Klemm

Virginia Lee (Hare) Klemm passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on March 22, 1932, in Edenton, North Carolina, to Gurney and Blanche (nee Spruill) Hare and widow of Oliver Klemm.

Virginia met her husband in Newport Beach, Virginia in 1951 and married him after he came home from the army in 1953. Shortly after marrying, they moved near Oliver’s family in Wisconsin to start their life together. Virginia was a volunteer at Village of Manor Park Nursing Home and held an office position at Allis Chalmers before retiring. Virginia and Oliver moved back to the state of Virginia to enjoy their retirement and were happily married 46 years before his passing. At which time, she became next door neighbors with her brother Johnny and his wife in Virginia Beach, VA where she became a member and Sunday School Class Treasurer for Kempsville Baptist Church. Due to health issues, Virginia moved back to Wisconsin about 7 ½ years ago to live out her final years amongst family and friends.

She is survived by brothers Gurney Hare Jr., John Hare, Ernest Hare and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, Gurney and Blanche, Step - Mother, Cornie (Jordan) Hare; loving husband, Oliver; sisters, Zelma Jones, Marie Kiser, Evelyne White and Shirley Taylor; and her brothers, Fermon Hare and James Hare.

R.W. Baker Funeral Home will provide entombment at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, VA. The family appreciates the long list of people who have offered their condolences and graciously shared their own memories of Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Virginia to the American Heart Association, Lung Cancer Research or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
