William John Gaffney passed away on Saturday Dec 21, 2024 at his home with his loving wife at his side. Bill was born at his Milwaukee home on May 25, 1935 to the late Vernon T and Marian M Gaffney. He is preceded in death by his siblings Norman Gaffney, John (Jack) Gaffney and Shirley Miller. He is survived by his wife Molly (Koelsch) Gaffney, his two daughters Susan (Joe) O'Connell, Dawn Anderson, 4 Grandchildren Ben (Daneille) Anderson, Kate (Jordan) Hohl, Trevor O'Connell and Kristi O'Connell. Three Great grandchildren, Scarlett & August Anderson, and Cal Hohl. He also will be missed by his special sister-in-law, Arlyne Koelsch and 17 dearly beloved nieces and nephews along with many other special family and friends.
Bill graduated from Marquette University in 1957 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He served 4 years in the Army- Fort Leonard Wood and Fort Lewis Army Bases. He worked for General Motors Delco Electronics for over 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family and friends, caring for his summer cottage, picking up twigs, golfing, playing cards, fishing, digging out dandelions, and deer hunting. The sound of his trumpet could often be heard at family gatherings and across the lake at his summer cottage.
He was a member of St. Monica Parish, serving on the Parish Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care and service in the last weeks of his life.
