William Chapin Iii, Major Usaf (Ret.)

William Barton Chapin III, Major USAF (Ret.) Of River Hills. Born to Life on May 14, 1934. Born to Christ on July 8th, 2021, age 87 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Carolyn Chapin (nee Bower), children Susan Stephen (Richard), Deborah Holtorf (Scott), Bart (Lisa), Scott (Danuta), and Dave (Rachel), grandchildren Cristian, Christopher, Kathy Sue, Andrew, Christina, Peter, Daniel, Natalia, Kayla, and Ben. A graduate of Dartmouth College and its ROTC program, Bill became a USAF F86 jet fighter pilot and was very proud to serve his country. He later joined the Michigan Air National Guard who called him back to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis, serving as a Search & Rescue pilot. Thereafter, he flew aircraft all over the world in support for those fighting in the Vietnam war. Bill and his wife Carolyn were founders of the Southeastern Wisconsin American Anglican Church's Wisconsin Chapter (SEWAAC) resulting in establishing St. Michael's Church in Delafield, WI. In civilian life, he was executive Vice President of the former Wisconsin Malting Company and later specialized in the phosphatizing sales industry with Texo Corporation. Bill cherished his wife and family and was dearly loved by them. Memorials to All Saints Anglican Church c/o The Very Rev. Robert S Munday, 2057 Townsend Ave, Montrose, CO 81401, the Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, July 23, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive Brookfield, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Private interment.
