Menomonee Falls

William “Bill” George Jage, age 80, of Menomonee Falls, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7th.

Born on December 25, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK, Bill lived a life marked by kindness, integrity, humor, friendship, and devotion to family. He was an alumnus of Marquette University and received his Juris Doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Bill served in the Wisconsin National Guard as a Captain of the military police before pursuing a career in law and entrepreneurship. He was the founder of the Wooden Nickel stores in the Greater Milwaukee area, founded the Off-Price Show, and built a successful apparel wholesale business. He found great joy in playing golf and hosting friends and family at his lake home on Okauchee Lake.

He is survived by his partner of 40+ years, Carol Fitzmaurice; his eldest son, John Jage; his youngest son, George Jage, and daughter-in-law Kim (nee Frost) Jage; his grandchildren Kadin Jage and Morgan Jage; and his two sisters Mary Gwinn and Patty Muir and their families; and Patrick Fitzmaurice and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Jage, Genevieve (nee Little) Jage, and his brother Jack Jage.

Above all, Bill cherished his family and friends and touched the lives of many with his generous hospitality, honesty, compassion, and love. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

The family will host a celebration of life ceremony for close family and friends in August. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, if desired.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
