William "Willie" J. Rowe, 73, of Wauwatosa passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021. He was born to the late John and Marie Rowe in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married the love of his life, Susan, in 1967 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. They had three children John Rowe (Toni), Jeannine Rowe-Maruggi (Andy), and Jackie Rowe. He is survived by his wife, three children and their partners, two grandchildren – Naomi and William, four siblings, precious dog
Yoda, and many furry four-legged grandchildren.
Willie graduated from South Division High School, and was drafted into the United States Army shortly thereafter. He proudly served his country – completing a tour in Vietnam. He worked at Wisconsin Gas Company where he met and befriended many; and retired as a Supervisor 30 years later.
A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Willie loved his family immensely. He cherished spending time with his wife and children, grandchildren, and extended family members. In addition to family, he also treasured his many, many friendships – some of which were recently made through the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. He loved playing cards and riding motorcycles before his health started to decline.
Along with family and friends, Willie had a passion for woodworking and "tinkering" on house projects. He created beautiful pieces of furniture, remodeled homes, and fixed just about anything. When asked what he saw as the greatest advancement in his lifetime, he responded "tools."
