This Guy always had a story, about cottages up at the lake, Florida vacation spot with the attached screen porch, the golf cart with its own garage, looking after the pool, etc. Too many Ford trips that we enjoyed together. Also talking about old Oconomowoc and his expierances at St. Jerome School, the bus depot and tavern on the Main Street corner by the depot. I first got to know Bill late in the Fall of 1962, He was the parts department manager at Soerens Ford on 27th Street, it was the first clear cold day of that winter season. The phone rang in our parts department. This was at Hornburg Inc in Oconomowoc and our dealership was located on LacLaBelle on west Wisconsin Ave. The phone call was from Bill Kelly, this was also a long distance call from Milwaukee, " Roger is there ice on the lake"? was the question. I will go and see Bill, hang on. A quick walk to the back, a look out of the window and yes the lake was frozen, i returned to the phone and reported to Kelly that their was ice on the lake. His response ----- are you sure -------Yes i am sure. Kelly then said, "damit i lost the bet". There was never a better promoter of FoMoCo, Autolie, Motorcraft, or Rotunda then Bill Kelly. May He Rest In Peace in the Hands Of the Lord.
