Obituary for Donald Otto Ries

John 14:2-3 “There are many rooms in my Father‘s house. I am going there to prepare
a place for you.”

Donald Otto Ries, age 86, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at
Rocky Knoll Health Care Center under the care of Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.

Donald was born on December 7, 1928, the son of the late Fred and Edna Ries. He
graduated from Central High School in 1947. From 1949-1952 Donald proudly served
our country in the United States Army. In September 1954 he married the late
Patricia Carol Ries. From 1960-1961 Donald served as Commander for the VFW
Wolf-Olson Post 1230. From 1958-1970 Donald worked as a Postal Carrier for the
United States Post Office in Sheboygan. In 1976 Donald moved to Fort Myers, FL and
retired from Gulf Coast Center HRS in 1990. After 34 years of living in the
“sunshine state” he relocated back to Sheboygan County in 2010.

Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia Ries (2008); his
youngest daughter Heidi Adams (2006); his brother Frederick Ries and sister Delores
Stuefen.

Donald leaves behind his children son Jeffrey (Lynn) Ries of Sheboygan, Wi;
daughters Debra (Daniel) Schlafke of Sheboygan, Wi; Lori (Mark) McDonald of Howards
Grove, Wi; and Shari Ries of Cape Coral, FL.; numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

Donald's family would like to thank the doctors at Aurora Health Care in addition to
the staff at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center and the Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice for the compassion, care, and support given to Donald and his family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00am in the Chapel
at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave., Kohler, Wi.
