Obituary for Frank A. "Muggs" Hough

Frank A. "Muggs"  Hough
Dr. Frank A. "Muggs" Hough, passed away at the age of 85 on Friday September 25, 2015.
Frank was born on January 25, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Eula (nee Glass) Hough. He resided for 40 years in Waukegan, IL and for the next 22 years in Grayslake, IL. He then lived in retirement in Sister Bay, Door County, WI from 1992 until 2010, when he moved to Cedarburg, WI.

Frank was a graduate of Waukegan Township High School-Class of 1947 and he attended the University of Illinois Extension in Waukegan. He graduated from Palmer College as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1965.

Being one of the first to be drafted into the Korean War in 1951, Frank served in the US Army as a cryptographer stationed in Austria. He was honorably discharged on February 14, 1953.

That same year Frank claimed his high school sweetheart, Carol Ann Crawford, for his bride, being married in Waukegan, IL on August 22, 1953. From that union 6 children were brought forth-Cheryl (Dr. Alan Johnson) of Cedarburg, WI, Dr. Terrance Hough of Waterford, WI, Caryn (Geoff Grossman) of Elgin, IL, Linda (Brad Long) of Mackinaw, IL, Maureen (Robert Perez) of Wausau, WI, and Timothy (Lara) Hough of Round Lake, IL.

Dr. Hough practiced Chiropractic for 12 years in Waukegan, and 18 years in Grayslake prior to retiring in 1992. Frank served on the Grayslake High School Board of Education for five years, served as a village trustee on the Village Board of Sister Bay, WI for six years, and also served on the Sister Bay Board of Appeals.

Frank is survived by his wife Carol, as well his six children, 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Jeane Hough of Gurnee, IL. Additional family included 3 sisters-in-law, Joan (Dr. Glen) Johnson of Ellison Bay, WI, Marilyn (Larry) Hanzel of Waukegan, IL, and Virginia (Don) Hough, of Los Angeles, CA.

The entire Hough family wishes to express its most sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Lasata Care Center for their kind and loving care for Frank, especially the staff of 1W. Memorials to Lasata Care Center, appreciated.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM on Friday October 2, 2015 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2700 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, WI 53092. Frank's grandson, Fr. Shane Johnson will be the celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church, from 10 AM until time of Mass and at a reception to be held afterwards.
