Obituary for Gloria G. Cobb

(Nee Werch) Was lifted up on eagle’s wings into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 19, 2016. Beloved wife of Richard Cobb for 61 years and cherished mother of D. Blakely (Cynthia) Cobb and Heather (John) Fields. Proud grandmother of Annaleah and Jacob Fields. Born in Green Lake County in 1931, she lived most of her adult life in the Milwaukee area.

Gloria served in diverse leadership roles in Wisconsin and across America and was a founding member of Elmbrook Church and Eastbrook Church.

Gloria launched her public career as chairman of Milwaukee Christian Women’s Club. Milwaukee Magazine named her as One of the Top Ten Talkers in WI, 1988. Most notably was her career as a prominent motivational speaker and her expertise as a fashion designer, fiber artist and inspirational communicator for more than 40 years.

WOMEN’S DAY MAGAZINE featured her in three editions and she was awarded title of “First runner-up in the 1984 Mrs. Wisconsin pageant.

Gloria Cobb was an amazing person with diverse talents and commitment to share her love for God, family, and Christian values in many venues around the world. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be conducted at Eastbrook Church on Friday, April 29, 5385 N. Green Bay Rd, Milwaukee. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Service of CELEBRATION at 4:00 p.m. A private burial service for the family will be conducted in Berlin, WI.

The family wants to recognize the staff at Newcastle Place and Horizon Hospice Care for their professional care in her behalf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to GLORIA COBB MEMORIAL TRUST FUND, 12483 Royal Ln., Mequon, WI 53092 This fund supports the only accredited Bible training university in Chile, S.A.
